How can I tell my boyfriend to put on more deodorant?

I just noticed it yesterday that he smells like BO sometimes, I tried the whole "what type of deodorant do you wear?" but he never took the hint. I don't want to just come out and say "you stink, put on some deodorant" any tips please, I don't want to embarrass him
