Shaving pubic area. Lots of nicks?

Today I put stick deodorant on my vagina and bio oil. Then I got in the bath, waited five minutes and then put shaving cream down there for three mins then I shaved it. It didn't hurt but after there was lots of nicks and it's painful. What do I do?
