South Africa Tourist Visa?

I was planning on traveling to Cape Town and I understand that tourist Visas in Cape Town are only good for 90 days. For my flight itinerary, my total trip from Chicago to Cape Town and back will be 92 days but I will be in the Republic of South Africa for exactly 90 days. Will my tourist visa be enough or will I have to apply for a real visa? Thanks
