What can deaf people hear?

Since there are different levels of deafness, some deaf people can hear voices or doorbells or dogs barking, what what about people who are profoundly deaf (100%, completely deaf), who supposedly hear nothing? Do they really hear nothing? Can they hear things if they're super loud, like a jet plane taking off or a rock concert?
