Are concerts dangerous?

Im planning on going to a concert with all metalcore bands(all christians) and i was wondering if they are bad for your hearing. lol im more worried about my hearing than the mosh pits. i was wondering if it will do an permenant damage? i mean its a one time thing i never go to concerts. i know they have the music really loud and it will probably do temporary damage. so my question is is it ok to go just this once? btw i dont know how close ill be to the speakers.
